We were contacted by Rob from Waggle Events, who needed a crew who could operate both a Zoom and VMix for a hybrid conference event in Lancaster.
The event was based around Sociology and saw experts and students from around the world attend either in person, or online via Zoom.
Six crew members travelled to the event including Mark & Stu. The event was held across 6 lecture theatres/conference rooms at Lancaster University.
Each room was set-up with a camera, zoom laptop, vision mixer, vMix laptop and also a laptop for presentations, all plugged into the in-house PA and projector system. This allowed the option for an in person presenter to speak to the room while being broadcast to viewers on Zoom, but also for an external presenter to present to the room over zoom as well. We even had a few pre-recorded talks with the presenters joining remotely for Q&A afterwards
Set-up was carried on on day 1, with the event taking place on day two. There were a few teething problems, mainly with connecting to the University internet and a few connectivity issues with the in-house kit, but the event went very well and the organisers were very pleased with the outcome!
After the event we received the following feedback from Rob "Very many thanks for your and Stu's hard work on last week's event. The client was very happy with the outcome which was no small part due to your support."
