Snow Falls in Summer DCP Encoding for Film London

We have been continuing our ongoing relationship with Film London, this time helping to bring a new short film to the Digital Cinema Screen with our DCP encoding service. We were asked to create a 4K DCP for the film to teh BFI DCP delivery spec and deliver it digitally back to Film London in preparation for an upcoming screening.

Film London supports many new and upcoming filmmakers, with education, assistance and funding. On this occasion we were asked to encode the new short film 'Snow Falls in Summer', from writer & director Ajuan Isaac-George and producer Alessia Lendrum, which was filmed with help from the BFI NETWORK Short Film Fund.

The film featured 5.1 sound, but also a hard of hearing audio track, so this was delivered with wildtrack format audio, plus DCP subtitles, which we converted from the supplied SRT format into a DCP friendly XML format before linking into the DCP.

There was a slight curveball thrown at the last minute they asked us to cut in some alternative shots for the titles and swap out one scenes for a newly graded clip...but we were able to get this done and the DCP was ready in time for the screening.

Spanning forty years and utilising a non-linear approach, Snowfalls in the Summer is an unflinching story of love, loss, and memory, witnessed through the lens of a working-class family, exploring the everyday rituals that transcend time.
