Mark has been creating some final visual effects shots for the low budget Indi Sci-fi movie Small Blue DIsc by Halogen Films. Possible Spoiler Alert! Mark has tried to create an alien cyborg look from a very vague alien type direction (!) and some on-spaceship abduction plates to help sell the abduction scenes. Chris and his team ( + Paul, Darren, Robin and Liam) gave feedback during the effects creation process "We have just watched the examples and they are fantastic. Yes, exactly. Perfect. They lift our film to another level"
Mark has been using Genarts Sapphire OFX plugins in Davinci Resolve and some built in filters and tracking to produce the effects with a few extra bits from the guys at Rampant Design to try to speed up the effects process.
See the Image below as the starting point for the 'cyborg' look in the top image, Mark used the built-in Resolve Face Beauty plugin to render less detail of the face and then tracked both eyes to change the appearance.
