Scenic 4k Filming at Putsborough Beach

As part of an ongoing project to capture scenic views of the local area in 4K (Ultra HD), we have been back to the beautiful and multi award-winning Putsborough Sands Beach in North Devon with the Blackmagic 4K camera.

Some of the footage will be used in a series of promotional films advertising local holiday cottages, showing off the beautiful surrounding areas. The footage also included a number of timelapse shots and action shots of local surfers.

We usually shoot with a wider dynamic range setup on the camera and use a 3D LUT (Look Up Table - like a colour table that matches teh real colour with the colour shot on the camera) in Davinci Resolve to grade the footage - so the image in this post is the ungraded version which can look rather flat and grey really. But it was a sunny day with lots of blue sky! Once the footage is in the edit and colour graded it will look superb.

Filming outdoors on a day like this is certainly a nice way to spend an afternoon!
