Mark Brindle becomes STEMNET Ambassador

Mark Brindle, Maniac Films founder and CEO, has joined STEMNET as a STEMNET Ambassador. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths and the STEMNET organization is geared towards encouraging young people into these areas for work and choosing these types of subjects at school age. STEMNET Ambassadors are CRB checked (enhanced) and can help in classroom environments or on outside school activities which can include work experience placements, mock job interviews or on projects that need specialist knowledge and equipment. Schools can request STEMNET resources in their local area and take advantage of a pool of volunteers.

STEM Ambassadors use their enthusiasm and commitment to encourage young people to enjoy STEM subjects. They open the doors to a world of opportunities and possibilities which come from pursuing STEM subjects and careers.

Mark Brindle has been involved in Engineering and Technology for many years from his early career as an Apprentice helping to build and test MRI and X-RAY machines at G.E.C which involved a year at a training center in Hounslow and part time BTEC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Harrow College (now Westminster University) and an BENG (Hons) Engineering degree in Electronic Computer System at Salford University followed by software Engineering and Networking Systems Engineer and Consultant roles working for many Blu-chip companies around the world, before changing career into Media Production.

We have taken on many work placement students over the last 13 years from local schools and colleges, plus University students for 6 week mid course placements in Media production and Post Graduates from Media courses. We have also had a fair number of Apprentices in IT and Media too. I like to help out where i can by encouraging students to take some initiative and get some skills.
