We've had a busy November with another Live event kit and crew hire this time for Phil Saunders Creative at the Haynes Motor Museum in Somerset for the Mole Valley Farmers Diary Conference. We did a full equipment pre-build and setup our ATEM 4K vison mixer kit and multiple 4K cameras and attended the technical run through in Sparkford the week before the event. We setup a Hyperdeck mini for playout of lower thirds and triggered video stings (as it integrates with the ATEM switch) and an audio delay unit to compensate for delay in the audio for streaming the event to Facebook Live using our Teradek Vidiu Pro.
It was a very informative conference that was very well received and attended with International speakers on animal welfare (especially cows!) and designers of cow sheds, cow comfort, how to read 'cow signs' and other speakers focusing on finance and nutrition. Haynes Motor Museum is an excellent venue for conferences and you get a chance to see some of the classic cars too.
Everything worked perfectly and the kit was brought up and setup again the night before the conference. Mark from Manaic Films was on site for the setup and technical support and operated a couple of the cameras for the event plus filming some intros and interviews and doing some quick edits for semi-live broadcast to Facebook at the event. There were a few teething issues with Facebook Live but these were overcome and the client was very pleased with the quality of the picture and the live mix which was recorded to be used for later long-form edits of the event.
We supplied a mix of Sony A7Sii camera rigs with monitors and SDI adapters recording 4K all day plus several Blackmagic mini ursa cameras. Oure new Blackmagic SSD recorder on our mini ursa Pro was very useful to allow 4K Prores recording all day and CFAST cards on a second mini ursa.
